Here we are officially for the last time. Our stay has come to an end, something that we would never believe. The entire month just flew by, and we’re saying farewell to the country of haute couture, exceptional cuisine, and style. As we’re waiting at the airport in Marseille, seated near our gate, headphones on and a book in hands, our mind is slowly (willy nilly) drifting back to those “ensoleillée” days full of new experiences, funny situations, misunderstandings, but most importantly packed with laughter and new friendships. Because that’s exactly what Erasmus+ is about.
However, we realize that it was quite a courageous decision to leave everything we’ve known and been used to behind and to come to a foreign country with its habits, peculiarities, customs, and manners. But do we regret any of it? Absolutely no. We’ve got the fabulous opportunity to experience the real world, real problems, and daily situations. We’ve learned to be responsible for our actions, independent, and self-confident since these values matter the most in life.
Although formal education is indispensable, the school of life often teaches you lessons you never thought you’d need yet are crucial in the long run. And that’s why we’d wholeheartedly encourage anyone considering studying abroad, even for a few weeks. Each “séjour” would be, without any doubt, slightly different, but they all have one thing in common - great memories, life-lasting friendships, and a new view of the world we’re all living in.
In conclusion, we would like to thank the French and Czech parties who provided us with this stay, especially Madame Macurová. Also, of course, to the host families, with whom we spent three beautiful weekends and thanks to whom we got to know the south of France from the locals' point of view.
